Theory of Antiwhite Nihilism – Part 2: A Definition

In my previous post, I gave an overview of the current religious landscape in the United States. This was important because, if it’s not already obvious, I’m a (black) Christian. This informs my views on truth, reason, and morality among other things. I firmly believe that Christianity is true. God is real and He created the heavens and the earth. I believe that Jesus of Nazareth, born of Mary, a virgin who was betrothed to Joseph, and descended from the line of King David of the tribe of Judah is the only begotten Son of God. Salvation is available through Him alone and by no other name under heaven can any man be saved. I believe that mankind requires a savior because our nature is fallen. We have a natural tendency towards sin. How sin manifests varies from person to person, but it is a disease with which we are all infected and Lord Jesus the Christ is the only cure. The world itself is fallen and ruled by an evil spirit which seeks to destroy not only our lives but our souls as well.

I believe that God’s Law is objectively good. I view God’s Law as being similar to physical laws except that moral laws can be disobeyed. You cannot choose to ignore gravity. You can choose to lie and steal, however, it is objectively wrong for you to do so. God’s Law is universal. It applies to everyone without exception. His Law comes from his own perfect Nature. Those things which oppose or fall short of God’s Law or Nature are evil. Those things which are in accordance with God’s Law or Nature are good.

Hopefully, this will help you follow my reasoning from here on in. Now to explain Antiwhite Nihilism.

The “antiwhite” part is pretty easy to understand on its face, and it is the less important concept. I use that term as a modifier for the core of this philosophy – nihilism. Nihilism rejects the concept of objective truth. Truth doesn’t exist. Or it exists but cannot be known with any degree of certainty. Or it exists and can be known, but it doesn’t matter. Antiwhite nihilism can be summarized thusly – it is a philosophy which abandons truth in its attack on whiteness and/or white people. Most people probably wouldn’t self-identify as nihilists (more would be willing to identify as explicitly antiwhite), but their philosophical foundations are logically implied by what they profess believe.

Specifically, the modern incarnation of Marxist thought that currently dominates American culture is nihilistic. Marxism rejects the concepts of objective truth and rational thought as tools of white supremacy. In fact, antiwhite nihilism can largely be seen as originating from modern Marxist thought. To such people, there is no “truth”. There are only competing narratives. Marxism posits that the dominant ideology of the ruling class cannot be maintained for long simply through violence. The dominant class stabilizes their preferred societal configuration using the following tools:

“The law protects and justifies the predominant form of ownership. The family plays the same role. Religion teaches the exploited to accept their fate. The predominant moral and political ideas seek to justify the rule of the dominant class with the help of sophisms and half-truths[…]”

Mandel, Ernest. “Violent Constraint and Ideological Integration.” Introduction to Marxism, Pluto Press, 1992.
Kindle Edition

Many social movements in the over the last hundred or so years have been aimed at deconstructing the underlying narratives, “sophisms”, and “half-truths” that the current white ruling class use to maintain their power. This means dismantling the current system of law and undermining the Christian religion’s influence in society. In doing so, a number of mass movements have been started which enlist the help of large numbers of poorly informed, naive, vengeful, and/or misguided people. In the case of sexual morality, these people are the LBGT community, and the goal is the elimination of sexual morality. In the case of law, these people are blacks and American Indians.

The primary function of black people in this system is to destroy and delegitimize America’s system of law.

It doesn’t matter if you as an individual aren’t a lawbreaker. It doesn’t matter if you don’t consciously participate in these social movements. It doesn’t matter if you do participate and think your purpose is to bring about reform. This simply means that you are at the bottom of a kind of hierarchy of knowledge. Let me clarify.

Imagine a pyramid. A pyramid is largest at its base and narrows all the way to the top. Most people in these social movements are at the bottom of the pyramid. They are motivated by their emotions and the desire for a sense of purpose or belonging. In the case of homosexuality for instance, many people believe that their movement will reduce violence against homosexuals and that homosexuality should be normalized. Anyone who opposes this goal could only be motivated by hatred and devotion to outmoded religious dogma. Those higher up the pyramid have a different purpose. It is a purpose which usually goes (purposely) unstated but which can be determined from examining the fruit of the movement.

A more complete understanding of what antiwhite nihilism is and how it came to be can be gained from studying Critical Theory and its origins. I’d recommend checking out the content at New Discourses and, for a more spiritually focused perspective on the same evil, John C. Wright’s Last Crusade essay series.

Many would object to me calling an organization like Black Lives Matter evil. Or any organization that purports to serve black people whose philosophy is informed by Marxism, but I believe that this term is appropriate. To review, evil is that which opposes or falls short of God’s Law or Nature. Let’s use some quotes from BLM’s now-deleted “What We Believe” as an example:

We dismantle the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work “double shifts” so that they can mother in private even as they participate in public justice work.

We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.

First, the Bible is unambiguously, unapologetically patriarchal. For reference, read 1 Corinthians 11:2-3, 1 Peter 3:1-6, 1 Timothy 2:11-15, etc. Here’s Ephesians 5:21-24 to give you an idea:

21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

However you may feel about these passages, the God of scripture clearly intends for the man to be the head of his family with all of the authority and responsibilities that entails. Regarding the destruction of law, Jesus tells his followers to give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s. When Israel was conquered and taken into captivity by Babylon, God did not tell His people to subvert and destroy the nation of Babylon or their laws. In fact, He says through the prophet Jeremiah:

This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them,” declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 29:4-9

While our situation in the US is not the same as the Israelites, this passage actually gives good advice for black people that would produce far greater long-term results than demanding more money for welfare and social programs. Seek the prosperity of the nation in which you live, make families, plant gardens, keep growing.

And yet, this isn’t the path most have chosen.

  1. Ah new discourses. Excellent selection, I’ve also been recently following James Lindsay’s work.

I’ve encouraged him (but alas, I am but a voice in the wind) to read CS Lewis’ The Abolition of Man. In fact, I encourage everyone to read it for explanations of today. Screwtape Proposes a Toast is also frighteningly prophetic. All the fruits we see today are as predicted by wiser men in our past.

(Thomas Sowell’s Vision of the Anointed, also a good, short read)

      1. Just read Toast. I don’t know if I said it in part 4 of The Theory of Antiwhite or in my current draft, but good Christian literature is close to prophetic. Thanks for telling me about these works.

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man—
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began:—
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
        And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!
